The Cabinet met under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and cleared two Law Department proposals. The High Court asked states to set up special NIA courts for time bound disposal of cases. Two notified courts already hear NIA matters in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Officials said 20 NIA cases are pending in the state. Nineteen cases await the 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge in Visakhapatnam. One case is pending before the 2nd Additional District and Sessions Judge in Vijayawada.

The High Court recommended a special NIA court at District and Sessions Judge level in Visakhapatnam because of case volume. The Cabinet approved one Special Judge and 15 support staff, totalling 16 posts, for the new court. It also approved a regular post of Registrar for Court Case and Management, equivalent to District Judge, in the High Court.

Admissions will reserve 50 percent of seats for girls. The government will invite tenders for management while retaining supervisory control.
