AP CS LV Subrahmanyam Transferred
Hyderabad, Nov.4 (Maxim News): The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday issued orders transferring its Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam and posting him as Director-General of Human Resources Development Institute at Bapatla. The shunting order was given in the name of GAD Political Secretary Praveen Prakash. The sudden transfer and posting of the Chief Secretary raised many an eyebrow in the administration.
LV Subrahmanyam was asked to hand over the charge to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA). The transfer was the culmination of internal tussles among the IAS officers in Andhra Pradesh, it is learnt. Two days ago, a senior IAS officer wrote to the Chief Secretary complaining about ‘inappropriate and arrogant’ behavior of Praveen Prakash. This letter released to the media created a sensation and within 48 hours, the Chief Secretary has been transferred.
According to informed sources, Chief Secretary Subrahmanyam issued a show-cause notice to Praveen Prakash, GAD Political Secretary in CMO, questioning how the issues were included in the Cabinet Agenda directly without his approval and the action was against AP Business Rules. He also sought explanation from Praveen Prakash within 15 days. This caused displeasure of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, who ordered transfer of Subramanyam as HRD Director General. Another order was issued making the incharge Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad to continue as Chief Secretary. (Maxim News)
