AP Govt Issues Orders To Teach English Medium From Class 1 To 6

Amaravati, May 14 (Maxim News): AP government issued orders to impart English medium teaching in all its schools from ongoing academic year 2020-21. According to the orders issued on Wednesday, The English medium education would be taught in all schools run by school education department, ST, Panchayat Raj and municipal administration and urban development departments of the state.

However, the state government has given exemption to minority residential schools from the purview of the GO with an option that they can also opt for parallel teaching of the English medium education. The English medium classes already run in mandal and ZP high schools would be continued in a usual manner. It may be noted here that the state government had invited options from the parents of the children of the state urging them to reveal their choice of education from the next academic year.

A total of 17,96,168 parents had given their options. Of this, only 53,943 people had opted for Telugu medium education. The state government has decided to run only one Telugu medium school at every mandal of the state for those who opted for the Telugu medium education. (Maxim News)
