AP Govt Receives Blow From NGT On Pothireddypadu Issue
Amaravati, May 20 (Maxim News): Andhra Pradesh government has at Center of controversy after issuing controversial GO 203 for withdrawal of water from Krishna river from Pothireddypadu head regulator, the National Green Tribubal has issued a stay on the project works and asked the state government to not take up any kind for work on the project till its further orders. It constituted a central committee to study the impact of the proposed project of the state government. The committee would work in coordination with four different departments.
The committee will consist of the members of Krishna River Management Board, Central Pollution Control Board and IIT Hyderabad. The tribubal has asked the committee to undertake the a detailed study and submit its report within two months. The tribubal has passed the orders while dealing with a petition filed by G Srinivas a native of Narayanpeta district urging it stay the proposed works of the state government. (Maxim News)
