Apprehended Accused Indulged In Circulating Child Sexual Abuse Material

Hyderabad, Feb 15 (Maxim News):  The Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad has apprehended an accused person Jamsed SK of West Bengal who indulged in circulating /sharing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)  on Facebook and other social media and it became viral.

According to AV Ranganath, Jt. Commissioner of Police, CCS, Hyderabad said on 23.12.2020 received a complaint from the Inspector of Police, CID, T.S., Hyderabad, which reads as “to proactively gather information about the circulation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) in web space, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on behalf of Government of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Centre of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), USA on 26th April 2019 to receive Cyber Tipline Reports as approved by Union Cabinet.

These Cyber Tipline Reports contain details of the circulation of CSAM as reported/alerted by different Organizations / Individuals.   NCRB receives such reports from NCMEC and in turn forward them to States/UTs in India based on jurisdiction for taking action as per law.

As per the contents of the above complaint, a case in Cr. No. 2488/2020, U/Sec 67 B I.T. Act was registered at CCPS, D.D., Hyderabad, and took up the investigation. Further, a team made strenuous efforts and proceeded to Bangalore apprehended the accused, and brought him to CCPS, Hyderabad sent for Judicial Remand and seized one mobile phone.

The team was headed by Inspector of Police S. Naresh along with team  A.Shailendra, S.I., H.Cs  Venkatesh, Mohammed Feroz, and PC S.Ravi of PS Cyber Crime under his supervision and D.Kavitha, DCP, cyber Crimes, Hyderabad and R.G.siva maruthi, ACP, cyber Crime, Hyderabad has cracked the said case.

Further, the public is warned not to spread the matter related to Child pornography/sexual abuse and requested to report the circulation of the same to the Police. (Maxim News)
