Asaduddin Owaisi Demands Probe Into Banswada Violence
Hyderabad, Feb. 23 (Maxim News): AIMIM supremo and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed concern over the rising communal incidents in Telangana. In a post on X, he said the growing tension in different parts of the state is alarming.
Referring to the recent violence in Banswada, Owaisi said he spoke to the Superintendent of Police in Kamareddy. Owaisi demanded that an FIR be registered and a proper investigation be carried out into the Banswada violence.
Owaisi questioned how such a large crowd could be mobilised within a few hours. Moreover, he stated that several videos show alleged criminal acts by right-wing groups, claiming that small shops and street vendors belonging to the minority community were specifically targeted.
Owaisi also alleged that one accused, who was in police custody, was assaulted by local Sangh Parivar members.
In addition, Owaisi said he is in touch with Sayeed Khan, AIMIM General Secretary for Kamareddy district. He directed him to submit a detailed report on the damages caused by the mob violence, especially losses suffered by Muslim-owned shops.
Owaisi demanded that the state government provide compensation to those whose properties were damaged. Furthermore, he assured that AIMIM would extend all possible support and relief to the affected victims.
Meanwhile, reacting to the demolition of Masjid-e-Moulana in Sadasivpet, Owaisi said he had asked Kausar Mohiuddin and Sheikh Ghouse, district president, to hold discussions with local authorities.
According to him, the landowner, Mohd Kaleem, had purchased the land two years ago and was in possession of it, even digging a borewell.
Asad Owaisi alleged that the owner had faced harassment from anti-social elements. The revenue authorities reportedly stated that the land was classified as inam land and therefore subject to demolition.
However, Owaisi questioned why action was taken only after a shed was constructed, asking what authorities were doing over the past two years. (Maxim News)
