Asaduddin Owaisi Faults CP For Closure of Petrol Bunks

Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi today targeted City police commissioner CV Anand over the closure of petrol bunks in the State capital on the occasion of the Milad-un-Nabi festival.

He asked the CP as to why he had shut down the petrol bunks since Saturday night for their festivals. He also asked the CP as to why he would not do so for the festivals of other religions.

Reminding CV Anand that he and the CP studied at Nizam college, he asked the police commissioner what kind of message he was giving to the residents of the State capital with his acts. He demanded that the CP give reasons behind the closure of the petrol bunks in Muslim areas of the city while ignoring the Milad-Un-Nabi festival. Owaisi faulted the acts of the CP and told him that it was not correct to shut down the petrol bunks.

Traffic restrictions imposed

Meanwhile, the city police have imposed traffic restrictions by keeping in view the Milad-Un-Nabi festival. The Muslims of the old city have taken out massive processions on the occasion. The police have announced that they would close down all the flyovers for traffic movement except Begumpeta flyover, Lunger Houz flyover, Dabeerpura flyover, Lalapeta flyover, and PVNR Expressway.

They have diverted traffic at Charminar, Salarjung museum, Falaknuma crossroads, Lal Darwaza, Gulzar House, Madina Nayapul Bridge, Etebar Chowk, Purani Haveli, Qadri Chaman, and Gulam Murtuza Colony and Mogalpura. (NSS)
