Asaduddin Owaisi Seeks Police Action Over Vendor Harassment
Hyderabad, Feb 15 (Maxim News): Asaduddin Owaisi seeks police action over vendor harassment during Medaram Jathara and demands a case against the YouTubers involved. The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen president urged police to act without delay. He said inaction would set a wrong precedent. Moreover, he alleged that the individuals were spreading venom by targeting the Muslim community.
“If the police keep mum, it will set a precedent. The YouTubers are spreading venom targeting the Muslim community. They should be arrested and their video should be taken down,” Asaduddin Owaisi said.
He stated that people from all communities participate in trade during Medaram Jathara. Therefore, he said, singling out any vendor was unjustified. “It is wrong to target anyone in such a manner,” the AIMIM president added.

The incident occurred a few days ago at Medaram Jathara. A Muslim street vendor from Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh was allegedly forced to eat his own food. The YouTubers reportedly demanded this to prove he was not committing what they called food jihad.
The vendor, identified as Shaik Shaiksha Vali, later received support from residents in his hometown. In addition, several influencers and political parties criticised the YouTube journalists. They accused them of creating provocative content for views and likes.
A group from media approached Vali and questioned him about the food he was selling. However, he explained that he worked under an employer who arranged the ingredients. “I only sell here, I don’t know where the bread gets made,” he told the YouTubers.
