Asaduddin Owaisi Won Lok Sabha Election Continuously For 5th Time

Asaduddin Owaisi | Hyderabad, June 4 (Maxim News): Asaduddin Owaisi, the four-time MP and Supremo of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), is set to clinch his fifth consecutive victory in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

With a commanding lead of over 3 lakh votes, Owaisi is outpacing his closest rival, Madhavi Latha of the BJP. The Congress contender, Mohammad Waliullah Sameer, and BRS candidate Gaddam Srinivas Yadav were also in the fray for the Hyderabad seat.

Hyderabad has remained a bastion for AIMIM for the past four decades, with Owaisi securing victory in the constituency since 2004. Before his parliamentary tenure, he served two terms in the undivided Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Owaisi initially contested from the Hyderabad Assembly constituency in 2004, succeeding his father Salahuddin Owaisi, and emerged victorious with a margin of just over a lakh votes. Subsequently, his electoral margin expanded, reaching 1.13 lakh in 2009 and 2.02 lakh in 2014.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Owaisi retained the seat with a significant margin of over 2.80 lakh votes.” now in the 2024 elections the margin of winning of votes is over 3 lakhs.

A barrister by profession, Owaisi studied at Lincoln’s Inn of London. He made his political debut in 1994 and won twice as MLA from Charminar assembly constituency in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.

In recent years, Owaisi has emerged as a figure often associated with Muslim leadership, despite his denial of such a label. He calls the BJP and the Congress two faces of the same coin.

Owaisi’s AIMIM, along with the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party (PMSP), and Rashtriya Uday Party (RUP), have formed the PDM Nyay Morcha in Uttar Pradesh. (Maxim News)
