Ashwathama Calls Protests At Bus Depots
Hyderabad, Nov.22 (Maxim News): TSRTC employees’ unions’ JAC convener E Ashwathama Reddy today said they will organize protests at all bus depots in the State on Saturday, as Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao failed to take the employees back after calling off the strike.
The JAC held a meeting here today and discussed on the mood of the State government and awaiting court order on Saturday on the RTC issue. On Wednesday KCR said his government will announce its decision on the RTC crisis only after the court verdict. The government was not able to run the loss-making TSRTC and will make some changes.
Reacting to the Chief Minister’s firm stand, the JAC leadership expressed displeasure and cried foul on the attitude of KCR. They vowed to intensify the strike if the government failed to retain the employees. Ashwathama said even though the workers were ready to rejoin the duties, the State government was not willing to take them back to the duties. He expressed distress over Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s reluctance to take a decision even after RTC employees are willing to end the 48-day-old strike and return to work without insisting that their demands are fulfilled.
Ashwathama said the workers were not responsible for the Corporation’s losses and the strike was the result of government’s failure in resolving RTC men’s issues. Although the workers reached the depots to rejoin duties, the depot managers were ordered not to take them back the workers until the government takes a call over it. Ashwathama exhorted the employees not to go near any depots for rejoining duties. The JAC will meet again on Saturday to discuss their future course of action, he said.
Another leader Raji Reddy also took serious exception to the Chief Minister’s harsh attitude towards the striking employees. It may be recalled here that the RTC JAC offered to withdraw the strike if the State government take all the 48,000 employees back to services without any conditions. Now, the State government has to respond to run the RTC by taking the employees back, they said. (Maxim News)
