Hyderabad: Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2026 will be conferred on 100 Indian Railways officials and employees on January 9, 2026. The award ceremony will take place at the India International Convention and Expo Centre, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. Indian Railways announced the honours to recognise exemplary service and outstanding contributions across several areas of railway operations.

Union Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw will confer the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2026. The ceremony will also be attended by Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti Shri V. Somanna and Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Shri Ravneet Singh. Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board Shri Satish Kumar will be present along with Members of the Railway Board and General Managers of Railway Zones and Production Units.

The selection of 100 awardees for Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2026 covers a wide range of contributions. These include innovation, operational efficiency, safety, security, revenue growth, timely project completion, and excellence in sports. Indian Railways stated that the awards reflect dedication and professional commitment shown by personnel across different roles and regions.

A section of the awardees will be honoured for introducing new innovations, processes, and procedures. These efforts led to better productivity, cost savings, import substitution, and improved use of resources. Meanwhile, several officers and employees will receive recognition for acts performed despite personal risk, which helped protect lives and railway property. Their work demonstrated courage, commitment, and a strong sense of public duty.

Other awardees will be recognised for strengthening railway earnings and tackling ticketless travel, thefts, and malpractices. Indian Railways also selected personnel for improving operations, enhancing safety and security, and ensuring better maintenance and asset protection. In addition, officers and staff who completed important railway projects within record timelines will receive honours for supporting infrastructure growth and capacity expansion.

Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2026 will also recognise outstanding performance in other fields and sporting excellence. Alongside individual awards, Indian Railways will present 26 Shields to the best performing Railway Zones in various categories. The awardees include personnel who ensured safe operations during events such as the Mahakumbh and Operation Sindoor. Officials who introduced advanced Ballast Cleaning Machines in difficult sections are also among those recognised. Indian Railways said the ceremony highlights its focus on recognising service and strengthening a safe and efficient rail system.
