Attapur Police Arrest Accused In Sexual Assault Case

Hyderabad, March 30 (Maxim News): Attapur Police arrested a 35 year old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a deaf and physically disabled woman at Hasan Nagar. Police completed the arrest within 48 hours of the complaint.

The accused is Mohammed Aqueel, a labourer working in a plastic bottles company. He lives in Shai Nagar in Barkas. Police said he is a relative of the victim. Officers produced him before the court after the arrest.

According to the Rajendranagar Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police, the incident took place on March 28, 2026. The victim lives with her family in Hasan Nagar. She has a hearing and physical disability. She has stayed with the complainant’s family for about nine years.

Police said the complainant left the house briefly on the morning of the incident. She secured the house and went to a nearby bank with a neighbour. During this time, the accused allegedly entered the house.

Investigators said the accused took advantage of the victim’s vulnerability. He allegedly committed sexual assault. The complainant returned home later and found the house door open. She then found the victim in distress. She also found the accused inside the house.

Police register case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita

Police said the accused admitted wrongdoing when confronted. However, he escaped from the spot. Later, the victim explained the incident through signs and gestures. Based on the complaint, police registered a case.

Police booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Officers said the investigation established a prima facie case. They also confirmed the seizure of the accused’s clothes as evidence.

Senior officers supervised the operation. The investigation took place under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar Zone. The Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Station House Officer of Attapur Police Station also monitored the case.

The investigation team included head constables and police constables from Attapur station. Senior officers appreciated the team for quick action. They said the department will recognise the officers for their work.

Police said they remain committed to protecting vulnerable persons. They also urged citizens to report crimes without delay. Officers added that swift reporting helps faster investigation and arrest.

The investigation is continuing. Police said they will file further details during the legal process. (Maxim News)
