Attempted Rape Of Young Woman In MMTS: Suspect In Custody

Hyderabad, Mar 25 (Maxim News): Police have intensified their investigation into the attempted rape of a young woman on a moving MMTS train. A suspect has been arrested in the incident. He has been identified as Jangam Mahesh, a resident of Gowdavalli village in medchal district. When his photo was shown to the victim, she reportedly could not identify the suspect properly. Mahesh was abandoned by his wife a year ago. He lives alone as his parents are also dead. Police said that he is a habitual criminal and is addicted to ganja.

The police are searching for the accused in four teams. They are checking all the CCTV cameras in the railway stations in the 28 km area from Secunderabad to Medchal. The young woman from Anantapur district in AP works in a private company in the city. The young woman, who lives in Medchal, came to Secunderabad on the evening of the 22nd of this month for cell phone repair. At 7.15 pm, she boarded the women’s coach of the Tellapur-Medchal MMTS train in Secunderabad. When the train reached Alwal station at 8.15 pm, the two women in the coach got off, leaving the young woman alone. The intruder in the coach approached the young woman and tried to touch her body to satisfy her sexual desire. The frightened young woman suddenly jumped off the train near Kompally. Locals noticed the young woman lying next to the tracks with serious injuries and rushed her to Gandhi Hospital in 108. (Maxim News)
