Attempting to Rape Covid Patient, Ward boy Held
Gwalior, April 19 Attempting: A hospital ward boy has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape a 50- year old patient admitted at a covid care centre set up in a hotel in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, the police said on Sunday.
Attempting ward boy:
The complainant woman told the police that the ward boy tried to sexually assault her twice during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday but fled after her family members raised an alarm, said Additional Superintendent of Police(ASP) Hitika Vasal.
“The police reached the hospital after getting the information regarding the matter. The accused has been arrested,” Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Gwalior Hitika Vasal said.
He was later arrested, the police officer said.
Further Investigation into the matter is underway claimed ASP.
COVID-19 cases:
It is to mention here that in light of the rise in COVID-19 cases, some private hospitals have handed over their establishments and staff to the administration in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district to make arrangements for additional beds for infected patients, an official said on Saturday.
At least 12 private hospitals and institutions have handed over their establishments and paramedical staff to the administration to provide free care for coronavirus patients, district collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh said.
COVID-19 care centres have already been set up at six hospitals and others will be started soon, the official said, adding that the move will provide additional 500 beds to infected persons.
The district administration has appointed nodal officers to provide better treatment to coronavirus patients as per the protocol, he said.
