AVNL Sports Chairman’s Cup Tournament Begins

Secunderabad, 15 Sep 2023: On September 15^th , the AVNL Sports Chairman’s Cup 2023 was officially inaugurated at Sarath Stadium within the (OFMK Estate by the Ordnance Factory Medak (a unit of AVNL). Sanjay Dwivedi, IOFS, CMD/AVNL, and Rashmi Dwivedi, Chairperson, WWA, AVNL, were honoured as the distinguished guests for this event. K. Sudhakar, CGM/OFMK and Smt. Hemalatha, President, WWA, OFMK along with Senior Officials of OFMK & Allied Establishments, WWA Members, Unions and Association’s, Work Committee members and Players of Intra-Unit Factories were present during the Inaugural Ceremony.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address from the Chief General Manager of OFMK, followed by the ceremonial lighting of lamps by the Chief Guests and other dignitaries, AVNL Sports Flag Hoisting by CMD/AVNL, Parade by Sports Teams of HVF Avadi, EFA Avadi, MTPT Ambernath, VFJ Jabalpur and Ordnance Factory Medak.

The event continued with a special address by CMD/AVNL, the release of balloons by the dignitaries, the players’ oath, and the lighting of the torch. Cultural performances by students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and ZPHS Schools added a special attraction to the inauguration ceremony. In continuation, CMD/AVNL and CGM/OFMK extended their greetings to the players and officially inaugurated the 1^st match (Volleyball) marking the beginning of the AVNL Sports Events. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Praveen Kumar, GM/HR & Vice Chairman, Unit Sports Committee.
