The ministry also urged relevant parties to take steps to prevent further escalation of the conflict. Officials said maintaining stability remains important as tensions continue in the region.

NATO is also taking the incident seriously. There is no record of Iran attacking Turkey in the past. However, recent clashes show that Iran has mainly targeted US military bases in Israel and Gulf countries.

The missile entering the airspace of a NATO member has raised concerns within the alliance. Under NATO rules, an attack on any member state is treated as an attack on all members. Therefore, such incidents may lead to wider responses from the alliance.

Turkey shares a 500 kilometer border with Iran. The latest development has therefore drawn attention to regional security and the possibility of further escalation.
