Bandi Sanjay Demands Probe Into Check Dam Collapse, Questions CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad, Nov. 25 (Maxim News): Union Minister Bandi Sanjay accused the state of failing its people despite the promise of Neellu Nidhulu Niyamakalu that shaped the formation of Telangana. He said injustice continued even after eleven years of statehood.
Bandi Sanjay criticised alleged irregularities in check dam construction. He urged the government to order a full probe.
Sanjay also demanded strict action against those responsible. He wrote a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He sent it after the check dam collapsed at Tanugula Gumpula in Jammikunta mandal of Karimnagar district.
Bandi Sanjay said the state must wake up. He asked authorities to charge contractors who ignored quality norms. He said the state should register criminal cases. He also asked it to seize contractor properties to recover losses.
Bandi Sanjay said this would send a message that wrongdoers cannot escape. He also sought an inquiry by an independent agency. He said the collapse showed a pattern of poor work. He added that public money suffered heavy damage.
He said the Kaleshwaram project cost more than one lakh crore rupees. He claimed massive misuse of funds. He said people knew everything about the irregularities. He added that the check dam collapse underlined earlier concerns.
Bandi Sanjay Blames Weak Construction
Bandi Sanjay said floods in 2021 also damaged many check dams. He blamed poor design and weak construction. He said several complaints reached the government. He said this forced the administration to order a vigilance probe in May.
Bandi Sanjay said it covered 57 check dams in Karimnagar, Sircilla, and Peddapalli. Contractors received 287 crore rupees for these works. He asked what happened to that inquiry. He said people still wait for answers.
Sanjay alleged that during earlier BRS rule, Congress leaders took over many check dam contracts. He said both parties failed to enforce quality norms.
Bandi Sanjay said commission driven decisions destroyed accountability. He said leaders from both parties now visit collapse sites only to divert people.
Sanjay said they aim to hide their own failures. He also blamed the Congress government for encouraging illegal sand mining. He said this weakened check dam structures further. He accused senior leaders and MLAs of running sand mafia operations.
He said the neglect of both parties caused suffering for farmers. He said illegal sand digging weakened soil near farms.
Bandi Sanjay added that fertile land turned barren. He said timely action could have prevented this damage. He demanded swift steps to protect farmers and restore trust. He said only firm action can stop further losses. (Maxim News)
