Bandi Sanjay sent to 14 days judicial remand
Karimnagar, Jan 3: The Karimnagar district court on Monday rejected the bail petition of BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and four others, and sent them to judicial remand for 14 days.
Sanjay, who was booked under Disaster Management Act, violating Covid norms, attacking police and various other sections, was produced before the Karimnagar District Court here.
The BJP leader was arrested on Sunday night for starting a ‘Jagarana Deeksha’ violating Covid norms. He sought to go on the deeksha demanding that the State government make changes to GO 317 and do justice to teachers and employees.
Following strict orders from State and Central governments issued in the wake of rapid spread of Omicron variant, police refused permission for the deeksha, and arrested Sanjay when he tried to undertake the deeksha violating instructions. He was shifted to Manakondur police station in the night, and brought to police training centre here on Monday morning.
