Banswada Violence: Asaduddin Owaisi Demands Immediate FIR
Hyderabad, Feb 21 (Maxim News): Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday expressed serious concern over the Banswada violence and demanded immediate registration of an FIR. He said he spoke to the Superintendent of Police in Kamareddy and called for a thorough investigation.
He questioned how a large crowd mobilised within a few hours. He stated that several videos show criminal acts by a right wing mob. According to him, the crowd targeted small shops and street vendors from the minority community. He also alleged that one accused was beaten while in police custody by local Sangh Parivar members.
Owaisi said he is in touch with Sayeed Khan, AIMIM General Secretary for Kamareddy district. He directed party leaders to prepare a detailed report on the damage. He demanded that the state government compensate those whose properties were affected. He added that AIMIM will extend relief support to victims at the earliest.
The Banswada violence has drawn political attention across Telangana. However, police have not yet issued a detailed public statement on the total damage. Owaisi urged authorities to identify those responsible and act based on evidence. He stressed that law enforcement must ensure accountability.
He also addressed the demolition of Masjid e Moulana in Sadasivpet by revenue authorities. He said Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and district president Sheikh Ghouse are engaging with local officials. They are currently holding discussions with authorities.
Owaisi said the land was purchased by Mohd Kaleem from a person named Raju. He claimed Kaleem had possessed the land for two years and installed a borewell. He alleged that anti-social elements harassed the owner during this period.
Revenue officials reportedly termed the land as inam land and proceeded with demolition. Owaisi questioned why action was taken only after a shed was erected. He asked what steps officials took during the previous two years. The developments come amid heightened focus on communal incidents and land disputes in Telangana. (Maxim News)
