Upset over the opposition alliance members, Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI not giving adequate representation to Backward Classes, former MLA and BC community leader from TDP R Krishnaiah has called for a state wide bandh on November 17 to force political parties to rethink their candidate lists.
“The Congress has a mere 13 BC candidates in its first list of 65 names. Not just that, constituencies that were traditionally given to BC candidates are being sought to be given to members of powerful upper castes by Congress which was trying to grab power and place it in the hands of the rich and powerful in the guise of the alliance,” he said here on Tuesday.
