Beware Of Scams: Don’t Respond At All To Fraud Calls: ACB DG

Hyderabad, Feb 17 (Maxim News): No matter how much the police raise awareness, people are still being cheated in some areas. They are losing lakhs of their hard-earned money by falling into the hands of cyber fraudsters.

From common people to government officials, they are getting caught in the net of fraudsters and are suffering huge losses. No matter how many steps are being taken against fraudsters, they keep committing frauds in some form or another.

Recently, a fraudster in Yadadri district put a hat on an MRO pretending to be an ACB officer. The fraudster demanded money saying that he was involved in corruption. He threatened to deposit money in the account he had mentioned in order to avoid arrest.

He told them that if they deposited money, they would not care. The MRO got scared and deposited money in the accounts mentioned by the fraudster. Approximately Rs. 3.30 lakhs was transferred online by MRO Damodar.

However, the ACB DG responded to the recent incident of government employees being called in the name of ACB and demanding money.

He said that it has come to his attention that private individuals are demanding money without registering cases against government employees. He advised that if anyone makes threats in the name of ACB, they should immediately inform the ACB and local police.

He advised government employees to be careful in this matter. He advised that if anyone demands money saying that they will not file a case against you, they should immediately file a complaint with the ACB. he said that such fake calls should not be believed.

He said that if government employees or common people receive such fake calls in the name of ACB officials, they should complain to the toll free number 1. He said that the ACB should contact the toll free number 1064.

He said that complaints can also be made on the ACB Telangana social media platform through WhatsApp, Facebook and X. The ACB DG stated that the name and details of the complainant and the victim will be kept confidential. (Maxim News)
