BIG Shock For Medigadda Engineers: Cases Under ACB Act!

Hyderabad, Sept 25 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has prepared to give a big shock to the engineers involved in the Kaleshwaram medigadda barrage issue. It seems that cases are going to be registered under the ACB Act for giving a certificate of completion of the work without undertaking to complete the damaged works of the barrage.

Moreover, Vigilance and Enforcement stated that due to their mistake, the benefits of the government were damaged and there was a huge financial loss. Also, Irrigation Department Secretary Rahul Bojja has issued orders to cancel the certificate given to the construction company. Rahul Bojja directed the Engineer-in-Chief of the Irrigation Department to hand over all the files related to Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages to the Justice PC Ghosh Commission.

Engineers Being Cross-Examined

To this extent, Rahul Bojja said that despite the directives issued on this issue in July, the documents have not reached the commission, hence the memo has been issued once again. He said that the memo was sent to Gajwel ENC, Ramagundam CDO, and Quality Control CE. In the investigation, the Commission found that some engineers acted against the rules and took decisions outside the laws in the construction of barrages. It has decided to make recommendations to the government on all of them. As part of this, many engineers are being cross-examined by Justice PC Ghosh. Also, at the end of September, the commission prepared the ground for questioning former ENCs and high officials.  DEEs and AEs of Quality Control and Construction Departments will also be interrogated.

The Commission, which has already met with engineers, retired engineers, ENCs, former ENCs, government secretaries, and former secretaries, has collected evidence from them in 80 affidavits.  A list will be made based on this information.   However, the commission found that some of the affidavits gave different answers to the information.  With this, it is expected to recommend to the government to register cases against all of them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.  Moreover, it seems that steps are going to be taken to prevent them from being promoted in the future as well.

The Commission ordered the engineers to give them the placement registers, payments of the contractors, and MB books showing the quantity of work, revealing the role played by the engineers in the construction of Kaleswaram barrages.  It has been said that the registers should submit clarification on the number of times placement signatures have been placed in the registers by the engineers who have supervised the quality management.  Based on the report submitted by the CAG on the Kaleswaram project, the Commission has decided to collect details from the audit authorities.  (Maxim News)
