BJP Demands Changes to HMDA Master Plan, Warns of Protests
Hyderabad, Feb 11 (Maxim News): Medchal Urban District BJP President S. Mallareddy has urged the government to revise the HMDA Master Plan to benefit farmers. He warned that if changes are not made, people should be ready for a protest movement.
At a press conference held at the BJP office in Gandimaisamma Chaurasta on Monday, BJP leaders said they were disappointed that zoning rules have remained unchanged for 11 years.
Farmers Struggling Due to HMDA Master Plan
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) covers 70 mandals, 24 municipalities, 8 municipal corporations, and nearly 700 villages across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal, Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, and Bhuvanagiri districts.
BJP leaders said that the current master plan is causing hardship for farmers. Since their lands are divided into different zones, many farmers cannot build homes or use their land as they need.
They also pointed out that families who own land within the Growth Corridor are struggling because of strict zoning restrictions. The BJP is demanding immediate changes to the plan so that farmers can fully use their land for their benefit.
At the press conference, Mandal BJP President Peesazri Krishna Reddy, District BJP Secretary Dundigal Vigneswar, and former Mandal President Gone Mallareddy were also present. (Maxim News)
