BJP MP R.Krishnaiah Leads Walkathon Demanding 42 % BC Reservation In Telangana Local Body Polls

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (Maxim News): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah pressed for 42 percent reservations to BCs in the local body elections as promised by the Congress government to the community.

As part of the demand, a walkathon was conducted from Dilsukhnagar to Moosarambagh by the MP here on Friday. Cutting across party lines, youth, intellectuals, women and members of different BC organisations participated in the walkathon.

The MP along with other participants raised “BCs should be given political prominence and 42 percent reservations”, slogans.

“The negligence towards BCs and exploitation of the community as votebank should be stopped immediately. The BCs should be given equal rights and we will continue our fight till our rights are achieved,” R Krishnaiah stressed.

Demanding 42 percent reservations, the BC organisations have called for a State-bandh on Saturday. Already, all the political parties, including the Congress have extended their support to the bandh.

The Rajya Sabha MP appealed to all the sections to extend unconditional support to the bandh. The demand for 42 percent reservations was being made for the welfare and in the better interest of next generation BCs in the State, he added.(Maxim News)
