Hyderabad, Sept 29 (Maxim News): It is reported that the BJP is planning to take steps towards power in Telangana with Warangal as its center. As part of this, the party’s national leadership has focused on the three joint districts of Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda. In order to seize power in Telangana, it hopes to win a significant number of assembly seats in these three joint districts.
Speaking on the latest developments, a key leader of the party said, “The BJP once had a good hold in many areas of the united Warangal district. Voters gave us posts like MP, MLA, and mayor. Later, the party’s influence there decreased. The party was not strong in the majority constituencies of the united Khammam and Nalgonda districts from the beginning. In order to gain a foothold in the next elections, the party leadership has realized that there is a need to significantly improve the party in these three united districts. As part of this, Dasharath has been appointed as the organizational joint general secretary.”
Meanwhile, it is known that the stage is being set for the Khairatabad by-election along with the elections for the Mahabubnagar-Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal graduate MLC constituencies. These elections are likely to be held early next year. In this context, the BJP national leadership recently made key changes to the state party over a period of two consecutive days. Senior leader Sunil Bansal, who has been the organizational in-charge till now, has been given full-time in-charge responsibilities, while two other senior leaders, Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma, have been appointed as co-in-charges.
Local leader Nukala Madhukar has been given the responsibility of the state general secretary. Minister Srinivas continued in this post until six years ago. Again, after all these years, a Telugu person has been appointed to this key post. In the same sequence, the BJP high command has appointed senior leader Dasharath from Karnataka, who is well versed in Telugu, as the joint general secretary. BJP sources believe that these changes that have taken place in the party organizationally have the potential to change the atmosphere of dissatisfaction that has persisted so far. ‘The situation of three groups and six fights within the party has continued.
Many party representatives are unhappy with the attitude of Chandrashekhar Tiwari, who has been the general secretary till now. He does not know Telugu and has not been able to understand the field conditions properly. In this context, the national leadership has appointed local leader Nukala Madhukar in his place. All the new team members are committed. Their appointment is proof that our leadership has focused on Telangana,’ the sources explained. Dasharath will work to strengthen the party from the joint Warangal center and Madhukar from the Hyderabad center, they said.
Another challenge for Union Minister Kishan Reddy
There is a discussion in party circles that the Khairatabad by-election is another challenge for Union Coal and Mines Minister Kishan Reddy. The Khairatabad Assembly segment is within the Secunderabad Parliament area represented by Kishan Reddy. Jubilee Hills, where the by-election was held earlier, is also within the Secunderabad constituency. In the context of that by-election not giving the desired results to the BJP, it has become interesting to see what kind of result will be in Khairatabad.
