Bonalu celebrated at a grand note in telugu states

Hyderabad, July 24 (Maxim News): With people celebrating the Bonalu festival with religious fervor and gaiety, the festive atmosphere prevailed across the twin cities on Sunday.

People thronged the temples in the early morning and had darshan of the Goddess in their respective areas.

At the famous Lal Darwaza Simhavahini Mahankali temple, devotees in large numbers visited in the early morning to offer prayers. Dressed in traditional attire, women were seen carrying ‘Bonam’ on their heads and making an offering.

The heavy rush was seen at the Laldarwaja Mahankali temple in the old city of Hyderabad on the occasion of the Bonalu festival on Sunday.

Hundreds of women carrying the Bonum (cooked rice and jaggery) in brass pots on their heads queued up near the temple to offer the Bonum to the deity.

Endowment Minister Indrakaran Reddy presented silk clothes to the Goddess on behalf of the State government and offered the Bonum. Other Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Mahmood Ali, Ace Shuttler PV Sindhu offered the Bonum to the Goddess.

Similarly, a rush is witnessed at the Akkanna Madanna temple at Hari Bowli in the city.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Kishan Reddy visited scores of temples and offered prayers to mark the occasion.

Traffic restrictions were imposed on the vicinity of temples in view of the festival.

Temple authorities and police made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Bonalu festival. (Maxim News)
