BRS File Affidavit Against Defected MLAs, Demands Speaker Action
Hyderabad, Sept 22 (Maxim News): The BRS on Monday submitted its affidavits, including evidence against defected MLAs, and sought the Speaker to act decisively. The party declared that by-elections were inevitable in 10 constituencies of defected MLAs who were bound to lose their mandate for betraying voters.
Former Minister and BRS MLA G Jagadish Reddy, accompanied by MLAs K Sanjay and Padi Kaushik Reddy, filed affidavits with the Assembly secretary seeking action against the turncoat MLAs. The BRS delegation said it would pursue the matter aggressively, pressing the Speaker to initiate disqualification proceedings and set the stage for the by-elections.
Addressing mediapersons at the Assembly media point, Jagadish Reddy accused the turncoat MLAs of betraying their voters by defecting to the Congress. Reacting to remarks by Kadiyam Srihari that the Speaker would decide each MLA’s affiliation, Jagadish Reddy said the people’s judgment mattered the most. He blamed both Congress and BJP for encouraging defections in the country.
He also ridiculed Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar for making allegations against BRS leaders of using smuggled luxury cars despite being a Union Minister. BRS leaders purchased their vehicles from the same showroom from which Bandi Sanjay’s vehicles were bought, he said. (Maxim News)
