KTR said the Congress party came to power by promising six guarantees to the people of Telangana. However, he alleged that the government has failed to fulfil those commitments. He also recalled that Congress leaders had publicly promised to give legal status to the guarantees in the first Cabinet meeting after forming the government. According to him, the government has not honoured that assurance even after two and a half years.

KTR stated that the proposed BRS Private Member Bill aims to hold the Congress government accountable. He said the bill seeks to ensure that the guarantees promised to the people are implemented in a legally binding manner. These guarantees include benefits for women, elderly citizens, persons with disabilities, students, and farmers.

He also said the bill would expose what he described as the Congress party’s failure to implement its promises. KTR mentioned that commitments were repeatedly made by senior Congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi. Therefore, he urged Congress MLAs to support the bill in the Assembly if they are serious about fulfilling their promises.

KTR spoke to the media after a joint orientation meeting of BRS MLAs and MLCs held at Golconda Resort. During the meeting, party leaders discussed strategies for the upcoming Assembly Budget Session.

Speaking about the session, KTR said the Congress government is presenting its third budget. Therefore, he described the session as very important because nearly half of the government’s tenure has already passed. He added that the time given by the people to implement electoral promises has effectively elapsed, yet the government has failed to deliver.

During the meeting, BRS leaders also discussed plans to highlight governance failures and what they called excesses of the Congress government in the Assembly. Senior leaders including Madhusudhana Chary, Banda Prakash, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Sabitha Indra Reddy addressed the meeting.

KTR also alleged that the government is presenting distorted financial figures in the Assembly and manipulating data. He said BRS would challenge these claims with factual data and expose what he described as the government’s “numbers game.”

He also questioned why the government has not allocated adequate funds for Dalit, Tribal, BC, and Minority welfare schemes. According to him, these communities were given several promises during the elections.

KTR further alleged that the government claims there are no funds to implement welfare schemes for farmers, women, and students. However, he said the government is moving ahead with the Musi River project, which he alleged could involve large scale corruption.

He clarified that BRS is not opposed to the rejuvenation of the Musi River. However, he said the party strongly opposes what he described as corruption and the demolition of houses affecting thousands of families.

KTR also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and said the government is prioritising political interests over the welfare of farmers. He demanded that the government focus on implementing Rythu Bandhu instead of pursuing what he termed politically motivated programmes.

KTR reiterated that if the Congress government proves it has constructed even a single new house in the last two and a half years, he would resign from his position. He alleged that the government is repainting projects, flyovers, and houses built during the BRS government and claiming credit.
