BRS Wins Ibrahimpatnam Municipal Chairperson Post 

Hyderabad, Feb. 17 (Maxim News) Elections for municipal chairperson and vice chairperson posts are turning intense across Telangana. On Tuesday, the postponed chairperson election in Ibrahimpatnam of Ranga Reddy district witnessed high drama.

Officials began the voting process as per rules. They asked members to elect the chairperson through an open lot by raising hands. However, Congress councillors objected. They demanded secret voting and started protesting inside the hall.

On the other hand, Bharat Rashtra Samithi councillors insisted that voting must follow the official rules. As a result, heated arguments broke out between the two groups.

Soon, tensions escalated. Congress councillors allegedly attacked BRS members. Pushing and shouting followed near the municipal office. Therefore, police stepped in and tried to control the situation.

Despite the chaos, the Returning Officer continued the voting process. Heavy police security remained in place until the election concluded.

Finally, BRS secured victory. Third ward member Tekul Sudarshan Reddy won the chairperson post with 15 votes. Meanwhile, officials postponed the vice chairperson election to Friday.

Even though the results initially suggested a hung situation, BRS managed the numbers carefully. As a result, the party captured the Ibrahimpatnam chairperson seat. (Maxim News)
