Hyderabad: Bus Fire Accident in Ottappalam has become a topic of discussion across the country after locals saved passengers without stopping to record videos. The incident took place in Ottappalam, Kerala, when a Kerala Road Transport bus carrying 35 passengers caught fire. However, due to the quick response of locals, all passengers were evacuated safely.
According to details, the bus was travelling with 35 passengers when a fire suddenly broke out from under the engine at the front. Within moments, smoke filled the bus. Meanwhile, the front automatic door got jammed due to an electrical failure. As a result, passengers struggled to get out.
Locals Act Swiftly During Ottappalam Bus Fire
At that moment, a delivery executive named Srirag, who was riding a bike nearby, noticed the fire. He immediately threw his bike aside and ran towards the bus. Then, he smashed the door open before it got fully jammed. Along with him, auto drivers and shop owners nearby also rushed to help.
They brought fire extinguishers and worked together to control the flames. Therefore, they prevented the fire from spreading further. Not only did they evacuate all 35 passengers safely, but they also completely extinguished the bus fire. Moreover, they saved a nearby petrol pump from catching fire, which could have led to a major disaster.
The entire rescue operation took just 45 to 60 seconds. CCTV cameras recorded the scenes, and the footage is now going viral on social media. Several national and regional media outlets have broadcast the incident prominently.
