Busted Habitual Gang Dealing With Prohibited Seed: Seized 1.2 Tons Cotton Seed ETC Worth Rs. 30 Lakhs

Hyderabad, April 22 (Maxim News): Acting on specific information, the sleuths of Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT), Medchal Team & Shamirpet Police along with the officials of the Agricultural Department conducted a joint operation and nabbed 02 persons by the name of Gaddam Srikanth & Goshika Naveen Kumar at Orange Bowel Resort on the Rajeev Highway, Shamirpet, who was illegally transporting prohibited cotton seeds and Seized 1.2 tons of prohibited (BG-III/HT) Cotton Seeds which are banned by the Government of Telangana & 1560 kgs of Onion bags to conceal the Cotton Seeds, Seeds worth Rs. 30 Lakhs. one vehicle (Mahindra Bolero Carriage and 2 cell phones.

An inquiry revealed that  Gaddam Srikanth & Naveen Kumar are professional drivers. The vehicle owners Shivaiah @ Siddaiah & Suresh Yadav (Vehicle owner) are paying Rs.5,000/- for a trip. Drivers sent to Kushtagi town of Koppal Dist. Karnataka to bring seeds to Mandamarri of Mancherial Dist. of Telangana.  As per the instructions of Shivaiah @ Siddaiah & Pindi Suresh, they stayed in Annapurna Lodge at Kushtagi town.  One unknown person (Already briefed by the vehicle owner) came to them took their empty vehicle and returned with 1.2 Tons (30 Bags @ 40 KGs each bag =1200 KGs) of BG-III Cotton Seeds and 1560 KGs (39 Bags @ 40 KGs each Bag =1560 KGs) of Onions Bags.  Seed Bags concealed by Onion Bags. They set up the load to look like an Onion Load to avoid police checks. They further confessed that the first time they went to the same place was on 14.04.2024 and transported the same quantity of seeds (1200 KGs) on 16.04.2024 from the same person and Handed them over to Shivaiah @ Siddaiah & Pindi Suresh Yadav at Mandamarri of Mancherial Dist.  Both have been Smuggling of Prohibited seeds since a few years ago. And selling the same to innocent formers

The arrests were made under the guidance of CP Cyberabad, under the supervision of D.srinivas DCP SOT Cyberabad ADCP Shoban Kumar, Inspector SOT Medchal R.Shyamsunder Reddy, ACP Pet Basheerabad, Inspector Shamirpet, and MAO Shamirpet jointly nabbed  This commendable work is suitably rewarded.  (Maxim News)
