Cabinet Meet At Pragathi Bhavan Tomorrow
Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Cabinet will meet at Pragathi Bhavan on July 17, a day before the beginning of two-day Assembly session. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will chair the meeting at 4 pm to be attended by all of his cabinet colleagues and approve the new Municipal Bill to be passed in the Assembly and Council in the two-day special session. CM KCR will explain the need for the new Act for the Municipal department and upcoming municipal polls, rainfall, farm activities and steps for irrigation and others.
A notification for the two-day Assembly and Council session has already been released on July 12. The House will begin on July 18 at 11 am and the Council on the next day to approve the Bill to become new Municipalities Act. Legislature Secretary V Narsimha Charyulu issued a notification for the session after the Chief Minister took the decision.
According to informed sources, the municipal elections will be held in the State only after the new Municipalities Act comes into existence. The House will take up the Bill and approve it and then the Council will do so the next day. The draft bill of the Municipalities Act has been forwarded to the Law department for its nod. The Cabinet will discuss about the Municipalities Act, shortfall of rains, agriculture activities, municipal elections and other important issues. (Maxim News)
