Cabinet Meeting On Loan Waiver To Farmers To Finalize Implementation

Hyderabad, June 13 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has decided to hold a cabinet meeting to finalize the procedures for implementing Rs. 2 lakh loan waiver for the state farmers between June 15 to 18.

It is known that the necessary government decisions for the implementation of the loan waiver will be discussed in the meeting.

According to the promise given to the election, the Chief Minister has taken up the loan waiver within the stipulated time as the highest priority.

It is expected that there should be guidelines to help every poor farmer who grows the crop through loan waiver and to support financially distressed farmer families.

The Chief Minister has recently directed the officials of the Agriculture and Finance Departments to prepare for loan waiver within the deadline as per the promise given to the farmers.

How much funds are required to implement the loan waiver? The government is considering the available resources and alternative ways of raising funds.

What date should be taken as the cut-off date for the implementation of the waiver? The exercise has started on the issue of what the procedures should be for the identification of eligible farmers.

In addition to examining how loan waiver was implemented in the state in the past, if necessary, the authorities are studying the loan waiver schemes in other states and the methods followed for the farmer welfare schemes already implemented by the Centre. The benefits and prescribed qualifications are also being examined.

The Central government is providing financial assistance of Rs. 6 thousand annually to all the eligible farmers in the country as part of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

Central and state ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Mayors, ZP Chairpersons, constitutional office holders, central and state government employees, and income taxpayers are exempted from this scheme.
