Campaign To Worship Clay Ganesha Idols Across State
Hyderabad, Aug.30 (Maxim News): Telangana State Biodiversity Board (TSBDB), in collaboration with National Green Corps, Lee Shreyus Foundation and Druvansh NGO, is organizing awareness campaign on promoting the usage of eco-friendly Ganesh idols across the State. In this context, the board has planned workshops, seminars at schools, colleges and communities across the State. The board is also promoting eco-friendly immersion program to conserve aquatic biodiversity in the State.
The TSBDB will conduct several programs at district level to create awareness about Ganesh idols that are often decorated with toxic paints, which contains heavy metals such as lead and mercury which seeps into the water after idol immersion to the acidic level of water which is not good for the environment and marine life. Thus, clay Ganesha is the only best solution for the problem.
TSBDB is also taking initiative to promote the significance of 21 varieties of leaves used for ganesha puja and its medicinal values during these workshops to the students at schools & colleges. Several workshops and an awareness programs on Biodiversity and its conservation have been conducted throughout the State. (Maxim News)
