Cannabis Garden In Tandur: 108 Plant Worth Rs. 11 Lakh Seized
Tandur/Hyderabad, Dec 9 (Maxim News) A huge cannabis forest has been discovered in the Tandur limits of Vikarabad district. 108 plants were seized from a farmer’s field in bawad village, which was being cultivated between crop fields.
District Excise Superintendent Vijayabhaskazr revealed that cannabis plants worth Rs. 11 lakh were seized.
The Tandoor Excise Department conducted raids and seized 108 cannabis plants cultivated in the field of a farmer named Pentayya in barwad village of Kotpalli mandal of Vikarabad district. While two people are involved in this case, the excise police said that one has been arrested and the other is absconding. The police went and seized the cannabis plants while they were being cultivated in cotton fields.
A similar incident has come to light in Asifabad district. Gaikwad Shivaji, a resident of Kota village under Parandoli Panchayat limits of Kerameri mandal, cultivated 28 cannabis plants in his cotton field. After receiving information about them, Si Madhukar went with his staff and seized the cannabis. Its value is approximately Rs. 2.80 lakhs. The police warned that whether cannabis is cultivated or consumed, it is a crime and legal action will be taken. People are advised to cooperate with the police in eradicating cannabis. (Maxim News)
