Cash for MLAs case: State govt forms SIT headed by CV Anand

Hyderabad, Nov.9 (NSS): The Director General of Police today informed that Pilot Rohit Reddy, MLA of Tandur gave a written complaint to the SHO of Moinabad police station against certain persons. On receipt of the complaint, a case under Sections 120-B, 171-B read with 171-E, 506 read with 34 1PC and Sec. 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered at Moinabad P.S. and being investigated.

The DGP also informed that since the case is sensitive, high profile and sensational in nature and as it involves investigation in multiple dimensions, which requires thorough scientific and evidence based investigation in an elaborate manner, it requires officers with experience and requisite expertise with specific skill sets to carry out investigation.

The DGP has requested the State government to constitute a “Special Investigation Team (SIT) in public interest to carry out proper investigation in an expeditious manner. After studying the proposal of the DGP the State government constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by CV Anand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City and with following officers as members Rema Rajeshwari, IPS, SP, Nalgonda, Kalmeshwar Shingenavar, IPS, DCP, Crimes, Cyberabad, R. Jagadishwar Reddy, DCP, Shamshabad, Cyberabad, N. Venkateshwaralu, S.P., Narayanpet, B. Gangadhar, ACP, Rajendranagar Division, Cyberabad, Laxmi Reddy, SHO, Moinabad Police Station, Cyberabad.

During the process of investigation, the SIT may co-opt any other Officer/officers as necessary and complete the investigation expeditiously. (NSS)
