- MANUU programme to discuss NEP 2020 implementation
Hyderabad: The Centre for Distance and Online Education at Maulana Azad National Urdu University is organising a two day National Workshop cum Orientation Programme on January 12 and 13, 2026. The programme is meant for Regional Directors, Assistant Regional Directors, and Learner Support Centre Coordinators. The university said the workshop aims to strengthen coordination and improve delivery in distance and online education.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of MANUU, will preside over the inaugural session. The university said the event will bring together officials connected with the open and distance learning system. Meanwhile, the programme will focus on sharing experiences and reviewing current practices. It will also address issues linked to policy reforms in the sector.
According to Prof. Mohd. Razaullah Khan, Director of CDOE, the workshop is expected to play a significant role in capacity building. He said it will help foster institutional coordination. He also said it will ensure smoother implementation of policy reforms in distance and online education. Therefore, the outcomes of the workshop are expected to support long term improvements in the system.
The university said deliberations during the workshop will focus on key issues and emerging challenges in distance and online education. It will also discuss best practices followed across institutions. A special focus will be on the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 within the Open and Distance Learning framework. The organisers said this discussion is important as institutions adapt to policy changes.
Senior academicians, education administrators, policy experts, and officials linked to distance and online education are expected to take part. They are likely to address technical, academic, and operational aspects during the two day event. Meanwhile, the university said the recommendations from the workshop could help strengthen its role in distance and online learning.
