CEC’s Satire Of Rahul Gandhi, A Lie Cannot Be True: Warned To File Affidavit Of Apologize

Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 17 (Maxim News): Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar has hit back at senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who said in the press conference on today on the Bihar ‘SIR’ issue. He said that just showing a PPT without statistics related to the Election Commission does not make a lie true, evidence will have to be provided.

Counter attacking Rahul Gandhi, he warned that he should either give an affidavit or apologize to the country. There is no third way in this. He said that if the affidavit is not given within seven days, the allegations will be considered baseless. He accused some people of misleading people on the Bihar ‘Sir’ issue. He said that the Election Commission is doing its job. The Representation of the People Act says that the voters list should be corrected before every election. This is the legal responsibility of the Election Commission. he said that the work related to the SIR issue started on June 24 and was almost completed by July 20.

On this occasion, CEC Gyanesh Kumar spoke on the issue of voter cards with two Epic cards. Duplicate Epic can be in two ways, one is for a person in West Bengal. Another person will have one Epic number. Another person in Haryana will have the same Epic number. He said that even if the question on this came up during March 2025, it was discussed and the problem was solved across the country. He said that almost three lakh people whose Epic numbers were the same were identified. So their Epic numbers were changed. He said that if the name of the same person is in the voter list in more than one place, it happens only when his Epic number is different. He said that a person has multiple Epics.

Before 2003, the Election Commission did not have a website where the data was kept in one place. He said that since the facility was not technically available before 2003, the names of many people who had gone to different places were included in the list in those areas. Then questions arose.
