Center Released Gazette Notification For Census

Delhi/Hyderabad, June 16 (Maxim News): The long delayed Census process is set to begin next year. The Gazette Notification for the census, which is being conducted in the country after 16 years, was released on Monday.

The Union Home Ministry released the Gazette. The process, which will be conducted in two phases, will be the 16th in total and the 8th census to be conducted after independence. It will be completed by March 1, 2027. The Union Home Ministry announced on Monday That the census will be conducted in the Himalayan regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in the first phase from October 1, 2026, and in the second phase from March 1, 2027, in the rest of the country. .

This time, along with the census, a caste census is being conducted. A total of 34 lakh enumerators, supervisors and 1.34 lakh staff will work for this. The Union Home Ministry has revealed that this time the entire census will be conducted completely digitally through tabs. People are also being given the facility to enter their details on their own in the portals and apps announced by the government. It has been said that strict measures are being taken for data security. It has been stated that the collection, transfer and storage of information is being carried out very strictly. It has been explained that the population and caste census will be conducted as per Section 3 of the Census Act, 1948.

The census is conducted in the country every ten years. The last time this process was undertaken was in 2011. This process was done in two phases. In fact, the census was to be conducted in 2021. However, this process was postponed due to Covid. However, now the census will be conducted for the first time in 16 years. Along with this, the caste census will also be conducted for the first time. It is known that the Center announced last month that the caste census will also be conducted along with the population census across the country. Meanwhile, it has been learned from relevant sources that more than 30 questions have already been prepared regarding the recording of census details. There is also a new question in it. That is the specialty of this census.

The country has been conducting a census since 1872. The same questions have been asked since 1931 as part of the census. However, a question that has not been asked since 1951 will be asked in the census this time. What is your caste? This already includes information about Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
