Central Finance Commission Releases Rs 387 Crore

Hyderabad: The Central Finance Commission has released the second tranche of Rs 387 crore for Gram Panchayats in Telangana. Earlier, the state received Rs 259.36 crore in the first tranche. With the latest release, the total funds released so far stand at Rs 646.46 crore.

Central Finance Commission releases second tranche

The Central Finance Commission is releasing funds to Gram Panchayats in Telangana in tranches. The latest tranche amounts to Rs 387 crore. Earlier, the Commission released Rs 259.36 crore as the first tranche. Therefore, the total amount released so far has reached Rs 646.46 crore.

The release comes after the elections to the Panchayats were completed. As a result, the Finance Commission is continuing the fund allocation process. Meanwhile, the Gram Panchayats are still awaiting additional financial support from the Centre.

Gram Panchayats await Rs 2,400 crore from Centre

Despite the recent release, the Gram Panchayats in Telangana still require Rs 2,400 crore from the Center. The pending amount remains significant. Therefore, local bodies are looking to the Centre for further allocations.

The Finance Commission has adopted a tranche based approach to disburse funds. This process follows the completion of Panchayat elections. As funds are released in phases, the state continues to receive financial support gradually.

With the second tranche of Rs 387 crore now released, Telangana has so far received Rs 646.46 crore in total. However, a substantial amount is still pending. The Gram Panchayats continue to await the remaining Rs 2,400 crore from the Center.
