Central Government Has Issued Notices To X, YouTube, And Telegram

Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 7 (Maxim News) The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has recently issued notices to various social media platforms including X, YouTube, and Telegram. They were instructed to remove any child sexual abuse material immediately.

In this connection notices have been issued to the respective platforms, The Center has warned to remove any Child Sexual Abuse Material from their platforms on the Internet immediately. It also emphasized that proactive measures like content moderation algorithms, and reporting mechanisms should be implemented in the future, it has been made clear that the government is committed to creating a secure and reliable internet as per the IT norms.

Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar has suggested that social media intermediaries should adhere to strict expectations laid down in the IT Act prohibiting criminal or malicious posts on their platforms. According to Section 79 of the IT Act, if they are violated, they will have to face severe consequences. (Maxim News)
