Centre Gives Green Signal For First Phase Of Census: Notification Issued

Delhi/Hyderabad, jan 9 (Maxim News): The Centre is gearing up to conduct a nationwide census. The stage is set for the first-ever digital census. As part of the first phase, the household census will be conducted from April 1 this year. This process will end on September 30. As part of the first phase, details of houses will be collected from April 1 to September 30 in all states and union territories. This was announced by the Union Home Ministry in a statement. It has been stated that each state will have a period of 30 days on this occasion. A notification has been issued in this regard. It is known that the BC Caste Census is conducted in the country once every ten years . While this census was to be conducted in 2021, the process was postponed due to Covid. The Center has recently decided to conduct this census process. However, the Center is making arrangements to conduct this process in two phases. While the first phase will be conducted from April 1 to September 30. The second phase will be conducted next year, i.e. from February to March 1, 2027. It has been said that there will also be an option for self-enumeration for fifteen days before the start of this process.

The central government is making huge arrangements for the census. The government has announced that this census will be conducted completely in digital form. It is known that the center has already decided to conduct a caste census along with the population census. On the other hand, the Telangana government has already undertaken and completed the caste census process in the state. Meanwhile, the center has already made it clear that this phase of the census will be conducted entirely digitally. It has been stated that the census information will be collected through mobile apps, which will be very useful for self-enumeration. On the other hand, it is known that the central government has recently announced that it will also conduct a caste census along with the population census.

Officials have been working on the topic of how to reach every household in the country at the field level from April for ‘House Listing and Enumeration’. What questions should be asked of the householders and what information should be collected? How to use the mobile app? Awareness was created on the topic. What are the security features that can be used in the process of entering information digitally? How should the staff be deployed at the state, district and sub-district levels? How should the officials coordinate? A pre-test process was recently conducted to prepare a clear action plan on the following topics. The census will be conducted based on it. Now, the census process will be conducted in the snowy regions of the country like Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from September to October 1, 2026. (Maxim News)
