Chada Faults KCR For Announcing PACS’ Polls Amid Medaram Festival

Hyderabad, Jan.31 (Maxim News): CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy faulted State government for holding elections to Primary Agriculture Co-operative Societies (PACS) on February 15 when the popular Medaram festival was being held in the month.

Talking to mediapersons here today, the CPI leader said about one crore rural people throng the biennial tribal festival from February 5 to 8 at Medaram. Since they visit the Sammakka and Sarakka Jathara before and after, the elections for PACS during same period is not right, he said and took exception to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao calling for the polls after municipal elections.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken a hasty decision to hold PACS polls giving no scope to other parties to prepare”, he said, adding that the rural people are in confusion whether they should visit Medaram for the festival or participate in the primary agriculture cooperative societies elections.
