Chain Snatcher Held By Saidabad Police
Apprehension of fugitive notorious chain snatcher and recovey of two gold chains wg about 6.5 tulas etc., a stolen activa vehicle and one dagger
Hyderbad: The crime team of Saidabad police station apprehended a notorious Chain Snatcher Syed Aslam, who was involved in a case of Gold Chain Snatching at Keshav Nagar, Saidabad on 02-03-2021 and another Gold Chain Snatching case in the limits of LB Nagar PS, Rachakonda and also case of in a theft of honda Activea bike in the limits of Santosh Nagar PS. He is previously involved in a case of –Attempt to Murder, Rioting Armed with deadly weapon in Sanga Reddy district. The Police recovered two gold chains wg 6.5 tulas, 01-Activa bike B. No TS11EN8362, One Dagger and a Nokia Cell phone, from his possession. The stolen property is about Rs 3,50,000/- (Three Lakh fifty Thousand).

Syed Aslam @ Aslam S/o. Syed Taslim, aged 30 Yrs, R/o. Behind Race Course, Wahed Nagar, Old Malakpet, Hyderabad.

Modus Operandi: –
The accused Syed Aslam @ Aslam is native of Hyderabad. He is a school dropout from 7th standard. Earlier he worked as a welder for some time and later he got associated with criminals/property offenders and during the last (10) years he was involved in (40) Cases of Chain Snatching in the limits of various Police Stations of Hyderabad Commissionerate and adjoining Commissionerates.
Earlier he was arrested by various police stations of Hyderabad Commissionerate and sent to jail. In the year 2015 he was arrested by Kanchanbagh police in a case of snatching and detained under PD Act during the year 2015-16.
After releasing from jail during the year 2017-18, he was involved in series of Gold Chain Snatching along with his associate Ameer in the limits of Saidabad, Kanchanbagh, Meerpet PSs. Saidabad Police arrested him in the year 2018 and in another case of chain snatching from an old woman and was detailed by the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City under PD Act for the 2nd time. He was also convicted and served a jail term for two years.
In the month of September 2020, he was released from jail and got associated with a notorious notorious rowdy sheeter Layeeq of Zaheerabad and involved in a Land dispute and committed an offence of Attempt Murder, Rioting with fire Arms, vide Cr No 93/2020 U/s 307, 147, 148, 447, r/w 149 IPC & Sec 27 of Arms Act of Chiragpally Police Station, Sangareddy District. After commission of offence he absconded.
After that the accused Syed Aslam @ Aslam again decided to commit gold chain snatchings and on 19-02-2021 he committed theft of a Activa bike bearing TS11EN8362 in the limits of Santosh Nagar PS, with an intention to use it to commit chain snatching registered vide Cr. No. 43/2021 U/s 379 IPC of PS Sanosh Nagar)
After committing the theft of Activa bike, he committed gold chain snatching from a women at a Kirana Shop in the limits of PS LB Nagar at 8.30 PM on 21-02-2021 and with the help of his friend Nadeem he mortgaged the stolen gold chain with a pawn broker at Nampally for an amount of Rs 50,000/- and fled away to Mumbai (FIR No-229/2021 U/Sec. 392 IPC of PS LB Nagar, Rachakonda Commissionerate).
He returned from Mumbai after a week and wanted to commit another offence. Since his stolen bike was identified in the previous offence, he changed the colour of the stolen bike from metallic yellow to black with a colour spray in order to conceal his identity.
On 02-03-2021 while committing the 2nd offence he parked the bike and kept the engine running so as to escape quickly. He stealthily approached the victim woman and forcibly snatched her mangalasuthram dispite her resistance and fled away on the activa bike parked nearby.
