Hyderabad, Oct 5 (Maxim News): The iconic Charminar in Hyderabad became the center of controversy after a foreign woman was subjected to indecent comments by a local youth.

The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage among netizens who condemned the act as disrespectful and shameful.

According to reports, a foreign couple was visiting Charminar, recording the architectural beauty on their cameras, when a hooligan made lewd remarks towards the woman.

Her companion immediately confronted the man with a polite warning, saying, “be careful.” The youth casually replied, “OK brother,” unaware that the interaction was being recorded. The video soon circulated widely, triggering sharp criticism online.

This incident adds to a growing concern over public safety in Hyderabad, especially regarding harassment of women during festivals and in crowded public spaces.

Authorities have previously taken action during Bonalu and Vinayaka Chavithi, arresting hundreds of individuals involved in harassment and reckless public behavior, but such incidents continue to surface, raising questions about enforcement.

Netizens demanded stringent action against the perpetrators, stating, “They are bringing the country into disrepute.” In response, a formal complaint was lodged with Telangana Police and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, who directed the city police to immediately identify and apprehend the individuals involved.

Police sources indicate that officers have begun analyzing the viral video to trace the hooligans and ensure strict legal action.

Authorities emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated and vowed to enhance vigilance at key tourist spots.
