‘Chatushkala Nritya Hela’ spellbound audience at MCR HRD

Hyderabad, Jan.11 (Maxim News): Dr MCR HRD Institute here on Wednesday organized “Chatushkala Nritya Hela”, a confluence of Indian classical dance forms.

Renowned dancers of Kathak Kala Kshetra performed four classical dance forms, namely, Kathak, Mohini Attam, Odissi and Bharatnatyam. The auditorium was reverberating with beats of ‘ghungroos’ and soulful music as the dance performance mesmerized the audience.

The very first two items “Ganesha Sankata Nashana Stotram” and “Shiva Tandava Stotram” jointly performed by Ms Raman Gullapudi, Ms Mythili Anoop, Ms Gautami and Ms Achuta Manasa not only kick started the scintillating event, but also gave to the audience the first dash of flavor of the amalgamation of Indian classical dance forms.

Amidst thunderous applause, the two innovative duets of Bharatanatyam and Kathak by Ms Gautami and Ms Achuta Manasa followed by Odissi and Mohiniattam by Ms Gullapudi Raman Kumari and Ms Mythili Anoop, were presented.

The final piece was an item called “Yarana”, in which all the artistes came together on the stage and showcased without an iota of doubt that the confluence, rather than a single dance form, has the potential to emerge as a new dance form and received wild applause.

“The creative processes of artistic collaboration would provide a rare opportunity to explore the commonality across different dance forms, broaden dancers’ repertoire, and generate a diverse and mixed audience, especially belonging to younger generation”, said Anju Babu, Director, Kathak Kala Kshetra and internationally known exponent in Kathak dance.

The event has attracted a large number of officers, faculty, staff and trainees, including Vinod K Agrawal, Director-General of the Institute & Spl. Chief Secretary. (Maxim News)
