Chevella MP Quits TRS, To Join Congress Tomorrow

Hyderabad, Nov.21 (Maxim News): Its official now. The ruling TRS Party’s MP K. Vishweswar Reddy, who tendered his resignation from primary membership of the party, on Wednesday announced that he would join the Congress party on November 23 in the presence of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at Medchal Public meeting.

Vishweshwar Reddy made this announcement after meeting Congress president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. He was accompanied by party’s State incharge RC Kuntia.

Addressing mediapersons after the meeting, Reddy said he quit the TRS as it had abandoned the basic principles that led to the formation of separate Telangana State. He refuted the reports that the main reason behind his resignation was his differences with minister P. Mahender Reddy. “It was not at all the main reason. Although, I had differences with him for a long time, there were several other reasons behind my resignation from the party,” he clarified.

Reddy also said he would tender resignation from his MP post after formally joining the Congress party.

Describing his meeting with Rahul Gandhi as fruitful, Reddy said he was confident that the problems faced by his constituency people would be solved only by the Congress party. “I have discussed several issues related to my constituency Chevella with Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party has a lot of democracy,” he said. He said the developments that took place in the TRS party during the last two years had hurt him a lot and added that all his efforts to address all those problems did not yield any result eventually prompting him to quit the party. He also said the TRS was gradually going away from the people of the State. (Maxim News)
