Last week, prices had risen steeply due to strong demand and supply issues. However, rates have now fallen by around Rs.100 per kg in many places.

At the beginning of March, chicken rates ranged between Rs.360 and Rs.400 per kg. Meanwhile, rising summer temperatures caused poultry deaths. As a result, farm owners increased prices due to higher feed costs and lower supply.

Traders said prices depend on several factors. These include temperature changes, poultry production, and availability. Therefore, rates may continue to change based on supply conditions.

Meanwhile, improved availability appears to have reduced prices. Also, demand seems to have stabilised after last week’s spike. As a result, consumers are now getting some price relief.
