Overall, all major chilli types have moved upward. This trend comes after two difficult years when farmers struggled due to poor prices.

Therefore, the current surge has brought much needed financial relief and renewed confidence among growers. Traders said strong international demand, especially from spice companies, is a key reason behind the price rise.

Wonder Hot chilli, known for its sharp pungency and bright colour, has attracted more overseas orders. At the same time, chilli cultivation area has reduced this year in Madhya Pradesh and other states. As a result, lower production has tightened supply. With demand remaining high, prices have climbed sharply.

The Enumamula Agricultural Market Yard is one of the largest chilli markets in Asia. Prices fixed here often act as a benchmark for farmers across Telangana and other regions.
