CII Daikin Telangana Cricket Tourney In City From Sept 21 to Oct 20
Hyderabad, Sept.12 (Maxim News): Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the 6th edition of CII Daikin Telangana Cricket Cup 2019 from September 21 to October 20 at various grounds in the capital city.
Towards synergizing the industry and sports together to create a well-defined physical infrastructure and enable human development in the Industry, CII Telangana is organizing the CII Daikin Telangana Cricket Cup 2019. Some 32 Corporate teams from all over the city will be participating in the prestigious tournament. The tournament starts with the Round Robin League followed by knock-out matches and will be played across various Cricket Grounds in the twin cities of Hyderabad & Secunderabad, on Saturdays and Sundays. The finale of the tournament is planned to be hosted with the highest standard followed by the prize distribution ceremony.
E.V. Narasimha Reddy, Vice Chairman & MD, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), unveiled the Winner’s and the Runner’s up trophy of CII- Daikin Telangana Cricket Cup 2019. During his Inaugural Address, Narasimha Reddy appreciated CII for organizing the Corporate Cricket cup and creating a bonding among all the sectors of Industry such as IT, Pharma, Manufacturing, Construction, financial etc. He said that team work is the key for success and felt that such kind of sports among the industry create a fraternity between the employees by cutting the barriers of hierarchy. He said that sports not only gives fitness but also sharpens one’s mind.
D Raju, Chairman, CII Telangana and Managing Director, Kirby Building Systems & Structures Pvt Ltd welcomed the gathering and said that sports is a powerful medium. He opined that everything in the life should be taken with dignity be it win or lose. He also said that sports brings sports bring responsibility and said that the passion for sports especially cricket is unparallel.
In his special address, Andrew Fleming, UK Deputy High Commissioner to Telangana & AP, said that sports bring nations together. He shared some of his memories of cricket in London such as visiting the Lords Cricket ground for the first time and watching the Sunil Gavaskar playing. He urged the players of the corporate cricket cup to never give up till the last ball, citing the recent performance of Mr Ben Stokes in the final match of World Cup Cricket. He also made a point on the importance of leadership giving the example of Mr Kane Williamson, Captain of New Zealand team taking his team to finals in World cup.
During his address, N.K.Rao, Regional Director-South, Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd, said that Daikin will be on the forefront when it comes to supporting the cause of sports and informed that Daikin is also one of the sponsor for Delhi capitals in IPL. He said that Daikin is very much glad to associate with CII for the corporate cricket cup.
Delivering her Special Address, Gandikota Sarva Lakshmi, ICC -Match Referee, said that spirit of cricket should be upheld and success of others should also be enjoyed and respected. She said the sports teaches one to handle ups and downs in life. In his address, Chettithody Shamshuddin, ICC – Cricket Umpire, urged the players to work on achieving excellence rather than perfection. He also suggested payers to play the game very hard but play safe and fair.
M Komaraiah, Chairman, DPS & Pallavi Educational Institutions, said that sports brings discipline, leadership qualities, mental & physical fitness. He further said the students should be encouraged in their nascent age to take sports and said that they are implementing the same in their group of schools. (Maxim News)
